On March 23, 2018, in the presence of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, the head Boryspil International Airport Pavlo Ryabikin and the head of Lviv Danylo Halytskyi International Airport Tetiana Romanovska there was signed a contact with the world's largest airline, Ryanair. From the Ryanair side the deal was inked by the airline's CEO Michael O'Leary.

Volodymyr Omelyan, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, called Ryanair’s entering to Ukraine the most important event for the national aviation over the past 20 years: "Europe's largest low-fare airline will start operating in Ukraine from October 2018. We fulfil our promises. We promised Ryanair will come to Ukraine - today the contract has been signed. We promised General Electric coming to Ukraine - the contract have been signed. World companies believe in Ukraine and we do our best to ensure their presence on Ukrainian market."

"My dream is that there would be no difference between Ukraine, Poland, Germany, France, Britain. We have done it with Ryanair. We will do it on the railways, in Ukrposhta, in aviation and in other areas, we are engaged in.  It was difficult, but we have the result and I thank everyone who made this success possible", Volodymyr Omelyan stressed.

"Of course, if there were no support of the President of Ukraine, this contract would have been discussed for long. Nevertheless, everything is possible, if there is the political will. I am happy that Ukraine has it. Today's signing of the Agreement evidences a successful completion of the negotiations and a beginning of the great history of Ryanair in Ukraine. I extend my congratulations to Ryanair in Ukraine and wish the company every success for years to come. Today, I am happy just like millions of Ukrainians", the Minister stressed.
