"If
there are stronger applicants for the positions embracing by the members of the
People's Front Party, I officially declare –I’m going to back up none of the
People's Front Party. I am going to support only those who are stronger," Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk stated at a press conference at the Government House on Wednesday, 29 October.
The
Prime Minister stressed that the criteria for candidates to be considered in the Cabinet of Ministers should be professionalism, competence, and compliance with the law on lustration.
"I’m
not going to trade for positions and give the possibility to anyone to divide in an underhand manner the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine as well as to divide the country as a cake. Those days have gone into oblivion. Publicity - everything must be out into the open. Who wants to take
responsibility – go ahead", he said.
"This
is not my requirement, but a
requirement of the Ukrainian
people. People fought for their right to know who will run the country, and to possess a responsible Government. People fought for transparency and lack of private backstage arrangements. We must respond to the demands of society. There is no other way," Arseniy Yatsenyuk underlined.
